Course description
Neuromuscular re-education (mind-body training) in the tradition of Thomas Hanna.

Somatics is a system of slow mindful movements. It is a gentle, easy and effective way to help you manage chronic and acute pain. Other benefits include more ease in the body, better posture and deep relaxation.

You will also learn a daily practice in order to maintain better flexibility, coordination, energy, wellness, and balance, resulting in a decrease of the aches and pains commonly attributed to stress, injury and aging.

Open to all - anyone can benefit from more space and less stress in the body.

Going beyond the 'myth of aging' series we will continue to explore moving with awareness to unwind habitual holding patterns, increase mobility, balance, coordination and wellness.

Presenter Bio
Maggie is a professionally trained Somatic Educator, Holistic Massage Therapist and Reiki Master.

Originally from England she now lives in Auroville and works in Verite as a therapist where her aim is to empower individuals to heal themselves. She is also a member of the Verite Programming Team.
She is passionate about movement and the connection between body and mind, the emotional and physical self . Her interests include dancing (especially 5 Rhythms and contact improvisation), hatha yoga and various forms of movement work together with studies of eastern wisdom philosophies and scuba diving!
